Jonathan Crombie was born on Wednesday, October 12th, 1966, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was the baby of the family (he had two older sisters). His parents are David and Shirley Ann. Jonathan never intended on becoming an actor but he was spotted in a high school production of “The Wizard of Oz” by casting director Diane Polley. She also suggested him for casting him a character role in both A Judgment in Stone (1986), Anne of Green Gables (1985) & its sequel, Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel (1987). It was originally titled “Anne of Avonlea” when it was first prerecorded, on VHS tape. Needless to say, he had char roles, but it is the role of Gilbert Blythe that won him recognition and is the role for which to many, he is best remembered and loved. Jonathan graduated from the University of Toronto’s Victoria College in 1995. His numerous performances at the prestigious Stratford Festival Theatre are a given. His performance in the role of Valentine Coverly at the Canadian Stage Company’s Arcadia earned Crumbled a 1997 Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination for Outstanding Performance, a well deserved award. Jonathan Crombie’s life ended. His life unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 15th, 2015, from a brain hemorrhage. His life-time was 17,717 days, equaling 2,531 weeks evenly.
