Alexandra Bokova is a Russian-born American actress. Her home town, Stavropol, once an exile for Russia’s progressives such as Pushkin, Lermontov, Tolstoy, is the first in North Caucuses region to establish a Theater- Stavropol Academic Theater of Drama. Being born into an artistic family allowed Alexandra to participate and be raised in that environment, which shaped her love and understanding of performing arts. Her greatest influence was her grandmother, stage actress Alla Bokova, who was honored as a Distinguished Artist of the Russian Federation. At age 8 Alexandra went on to host a children’s TV show called Nezhniy Vozrast. As a teenager, she moved to the United States, where she planned to pursue her other passion – working in the field of human rights organizations. After earning a Political Science degree from San Francisco State University, her path lead her back to her artistic roots where she landed the lead in Mermaid Down.
